I don’t just write your stories. I interrupt them.
Leading entrepreneurs give me permission to interrupt them. In my role as a social media ghostwriter (and occasional executive coach), I use this permission in a tactful but persistent way.
In this manner, I prevent my clients from:
Telling uninteresting stories… when you have fascinating ones a bit deeper inside
Going on and on and on… simply because it’s hard to be objective about your own ideas
Getting too excited about an idea that contradicts what you have previously told me… because we all do this without having a trusted advisor to spot these disconnects
Everyone benefits from a well-timed interruption. Even you.

BOOKS
How to Self-Promote without Being a Jerk is my most popular book. It’s about doing well by doing good.
Never Tell People What You Do is about learning to say what you want, instead of merely telling people what you have done so far.
I Am is a meditative and enriching workbook that I co-authored with Amy Blaschka.
In 2001, I wrote Making It Personal, one of the earliest books to predict the effects personalization technology would have on business and society.
In 2013, I wrote Smart Customers, Stupid Companies with co-author Michael Hinshaw; it focused on how disruptive technologies would impact companies.
ABOUT ME: Bruce Kasanoff
For over a decade, I have served as a social media ghostwriter and/or executive coach for the leaders of rapidly-growing, small private companies.
I engage in weekly conversations with each client about what matters most to them. These discussions breed clarity and focus, and they often turn into social media posts in my client’s name and voice.
I am the founder of Bend Reality, an invitation-only community for accomplished individuals who strive to lead with love. This community reflects my deeply held belief that leadership is most powerful when it comes from a place of compassion, empathy, and service.
Throughout my career, I've been passionate about helping individuals and organizations do well by doing good. Some highlights include:
Serving—for five years in a row—as the "marketing guru" for 250 entrepreneurs through EO's Birthing of Giants program
Raising or helping raise $20 million for start-up and entrepreneurial ventures
Being an original partner of the Peppers and Rogers Group, where we grew the firm from ten to 150 employees in three years
Serving as the interactive strategist at Ogilvy & Mather for IBM in the earliest days of the web.
A Wharton MBA, I have taught at Babson College and have been invited to speak at Wharton, Yale, NYU, and Wesleyan.
One last thing: I will cross the street to play with a dog.
CHAIRLIFT CHATS
One of the best ideas I’ve ever had was to launch Chairlift Chats, and the video above shows one of my all-time favorite chats with Michelle MacLaren, director and executive producer of Breaking Bad.
When I visit ski towns, I grab a few laps (or drinks) with the most interesting people in town… and then I feature a story and/or video about them in one of my five newsletters.
In 2025, I’ll be in Aspen, Salt Lake City, Sun Valley and Mt. Bachelor; let me know if you’re interested in participating.
